– A Century of Safety and Innovation

The year 2025 marks a significant milestone for DEKRA – we celebrate 100 years as a global leader in safety. What began in Berlin in 1925 as the Deutscher Kraftfahrzeug-Überwachungs-Verein (DEKRA) has grown into a worldwide network with more than 49,000 employees in over 60 countries. Our mission has been clear from the very beginning: to create a safer world.

Over the course of a century, DEKRA has built expertise in vehicle safety, industrial testing, certification, and occupational health. Through continuous innovation, digitalisation and sustainable development, we have contributed to reducing risks and protecting people, property and the environment – in step with the evolving needs of society.

We look back on our history with pride – but our focus remains firmly on the future.

    • 100 years of DEKRA equals 100 years of commitment to safety. Despite global challenges, we have continued a growth trajectory in 2024. We have seen growth both in our traditional core businesses and in future-oriented fields such as e-mobility, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. Thanks to this success we have been able to further consolidate our position as the world’s largest non-listed testing, inspection, and certification company – just as we embark on a second century of DEKRA contributing to a safer and more sustainable world.
